5 Things Families Love About Love Church (In Their Own Words)

We get some version of this question all the time: "Why do you go to Love Church?"

Honestly, we didn't think we should answer that question ourselves. So we asked five Love Church families to share why they call Love Church home.

Here's what they said.

1. The Garcias — young kids, first-time church-going family.

"We were nervous the first Sunday. My husband hadn't been to church in fifteen years. We both wore something we would have worn to Target. Ten minutes into kids’ check-in, our daughter didn't want to leave the classroom. That's when we knew. We have been going for eight months."

2. The Olsens — empty-nesters.

"Our kids grew up, we moved to Elkhorn, and we thought we had outgrown church. We came to Love Church because someone from our neighborhood invited us, and we didn't want to be rude. We've been there every Sunday since. It turns out we hadn't outgrown church. We had outgrown a church."

3. Jess — single mom.

"I showed up with my seven-year-old and my three-year-old, and I was convinced it was going to be a logistical nightmare. The check-in volunteer learned my son's name by week two. He calls it 'his church' now. I have never once felt unseen in that building."

4. The Nguyens — recent transplants to Elkhorn.

"We moved from Chicago in March. Love Church was the first place in Elkhorn that felt like home. The first Sunday, a couple sat behind us and introduced themselves at the end. The next week, they remembered our names. Seven months in, they're our closest friends in the city."

5. The Reeds — long-time attendees.

"We've been at Love Church for almost nine years. We've stayed because the kids ministry is the real deal, the teaching is honest, and the church has never pretended to be something it isn't. Our kids actually want to go."

What you notice when you line these stories up.

Nobody talked about the music. (It's good, but it isn't why they stay.) Nobody talked about the building. Nobody talked about the lights or the lobby.

What they talked about was being known. Being remembered. Becoming family. Being in a room full of real people on a Sunday morning and feeling a little less alone because of it.

That's Love Church, in the words of the people who call it home.

If you're reading this and wondering if your story could look something like these, come see for yourself.

Join us Sundays at 9:00 AM or 11:00 AM at 20120 Blue Sage Pkwy in Elkhorn, or online.
