What Actually Happens on a Sunday at Love Church (From Parking Lot to Pickup)

It's 8:47 AM on a Sunday.

A mom is sitting in her car in the Elkhorn Hy-Vee parking lot, one kid in a car seat, the other asking why his shoes feel weird. She's got one hand on the wheel and one on her phone, Googling, one more time, "what to expect at church." She's been Googling variations of this for three weeks.

If that's you — or if you know her — this one's for you. Here's exactly what happens on a Sunday at Love Church. Minute by minute. No surprises.

8:50 AM — The drive in.

Our Elkhorn campus is at 20120 Blue Sage Pkwy, a mile west of 204th off West Maple St. Big parking lot, plenty of space, easy in and out. Look for the signs that say Guest Parking — those spots are closest to the main entrance, and they're yours.

9:00 AM — The walk in.

You’ll see our Greeters before you see us. They'll open the door, say hi, and point you in the direction of whatever you need — Love Kidz check-in, the New Here Table, or a seat. If you have questions, ask them. That's why they're there.

9:05 AM — The lobby.

Our lobby on a Sunday is warm, noisy in a good way, and full of real people talking to each other. You don't have to talk to anyone if you don't want to. You don't have to sign anything. You don't have to give anyone your phone number. Just walk through.

9:10 AM — Love Kidz check-in.

If you have kids (birth through fifth grade), stop at the Love Kidz desk before you head into the service (we call them encounters). It takes about three minutes on a first visit. We'll put a name tag on your child that matches a tag you carry. Nobody walks out with them but you. If they need you during service, we text you — no PA system announcements, no walking to the front of the room.

9:15 AM — You find a seat.

Anywhere. Up front, in the back, on the aisle, center. Nobody is saving a seat. Nobody is watching where you sit.

9:20 AM — Worship starts.

Our music is modern — a full band, songs you'd hear on K-LOVE. You don't have to sing along. You don't have to raise your hands. You can just stand, or sit, or watch. Whatever you're comfortable with.

9:40 AM — The message.

Pastor Mike preaches for about 30 minutes. Plainspoken. Real stories. Scripture you can follow without a theology degree. He's not yelling at you. He's not begging you for anything. He's telling you the truth about Jesus in a way you'd want to quote on Monday.

10:10 AM — The close.

A short prayer. A reminder of what's coming up. A clear next step for anyone who wants one. No guilt-trip altar calls. If you want to talk to somebody, there's a space for that. If you want to slip out, the door's right there.

10:15 AM — Pickup.

Head back to Love Kidz. Your tag matches your kid's tag. They come home with you. Easy.

10:25 AM — The parking lot.

You'll see the same families you saw walking in — now standing in the parking lot talking for ten minutes longer than they meant to. That's a good sign. That's the church working.

10:30 AM — You drive home.

Quiet, not exhausted. That's the goal.

And that's it.

That's the whole thing. No secrets, no surprises, no catch. You came, you sat, you left. If you want to come back, we'd love that. If you want to wait a few weeks, that's fine too.

Come see us at 9:00 AM or 11:00 AM this Sunday. 20120 Blue Sage Pkwy, Elkhorn.

We saved you a seat.
